I am a qualified teacher though not working in school. I am a volunteer with the National Trust at the Ashridge Estate near Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire. I also volunteer in my village as one of two editors of the Parish Magazine.
In my spare time I have, I enjoy reading many different types of books to relax. I love photography, taking pictures of landscapes, houses and gardens and wildlife too. I also take photos at the dress rehearsals of some of the plays performed at the Little Theatre in Dunstable. You can see some of my favourite photos on my Photo Gallery page.
I sing with my church choir at Aley Green Methodist Church. I also sing in a ladies choir called Cantata. We sing 2 and 3 part arrangements of all sorts of music, a lot of which is music from the shows, though I like to sing other styles of music too. We have been “on tour” abroad and in this country.
Another of my spare time interests is researching our Family History. This is a time consuming occupation and can be fascinating, finding out what our ancestors did for a living and where they came from. I started with memories from older family members and have worked backwards from there. I always welcome extra comments and help from anyone who can fill in gaps or provide further information about any branch of the family. I wrote up books of our family history including my Grandfather's First World War Memories.
I used to be a Leader at 3rd Dunstable Scout Group and am still involved with leader training and as an Adult Support member at various activities.
